FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy — also called photobiomodulation (PBM) — uses specific wavelengths of light (660nm red and 850nm near-infrared) to stimulate cellular activity, boost mitochondrial function, and modulate inflammation. Multiple clinical studies show meaningful reductions in joint pain and stiffness. Emberly delivers both wavelengths through 126 LEDs built into a flexible, wearable belt.
How does it help with menopause-related joint pain?
Declining estrogen during menopause affects estrogen receptors in joints and muscles, contributing to the aches and stiffness many women experience. Red light therapy addresses the inflammation and cellular stress underlying this pain. Multiple meta-analyses of red light therapy for joint conditions show significant, clinically meaningful pain reduction with consistent use.
How do I use Emberly?
Wrap the belt around wherever aches — lower back, hips, knees, shoulders. Select your intensity (1–5) and time (5–30 minutes) and press start. Use once or twice a day. The belt shuts off automatically. Most people use it while reading, watching TV, or relaxing at home.
How long until I notice a difference?
Red light therapy works cumulatively. Many users notice reduced stiffness and improved comfort within 2–4 weeks of consistent daily use. That’s why we offer a 60-day trial — long enough to give it a real chance.
What areas can I use it on?
Any area where you experience joint or muscle discomfort: lower back, hips, knees, shoulders, hands, neck. The belt is flexible and lightweight enough to wrap or drape over different areas.
Is it safe?
Red light therapy at these wavelengths and power levels has an excellent safety profile. Systematic reviews of clinical trials report virtually no serious adverse effects. Do not use directly on the eyes, on open wounds, or during pregnancy. Consult your physician before use if you have any underlying medical conditions or take photosensitizing medications.
Is it FDA approved?
Emberly is a wellness device and is not FDA-cleared as a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Red light therapy devices for home wellness use are widely available and generally considered low-risk consumer products.
Can I use it while on hormone therapy?
Emberly is drug-free and non-hormonal, so it does not interact with HRT. Consult your doctor if you have questions specific to your treatment plan.
